As by knowing one piece of gold, dear one,
We come to know all things made out of gold-
That they differ only in name and form,
While the stuff of which all are made is gold...
So through that spiritual wisdom, dear one,
We come to know that all life is one.

Mirza Asadullah Baig Ghalib (1797-1869)
He was a great classical Urdu and Persianpoet from India during British
colonial rule. During his lifetime the Mughals were eclipsed and displaced by the British. His period was one of political, religious and intellectual controversy, when oriental concepts were invaded by western rationalism. His poetry is not primarily one of feeling, but of sensuous expression. Ghalib was a very liberal Sufi. He remains popular among Urdu speakers ,not only in India and Pakistan, but also among many communities around the world. His Sufi mysticism is greatly reflected in his poems and many of them are translated into English.
As he once stated:
Khaidae-hayathae bande-gam asl mae doanoe yek hain Mauth sae pahlae aadmee gam sae najaath paaye kyun. Trapped soul, bounded sorrow in fact are the same entity Why does man before death wish for liberation from misery. |

How Honey Curbs the MRSA Superbug
A dark, bitter kind of honey can cripple infection-causing bacteria, including the highly virulent strain known as MRSA, and now researchers think they know how the honey fights the superbug.
Manuka honey is made when honeybees primarily consume the nectar of the manuka bush, a flowering plant native to Australia and New Zealand.
Researchers already knew that manuka honey has antibacterial properties, but why and how it works has been a mystery. "Manuka honey has an extra [unidentified] component that isn't found in other honey, which gives it an extra kick," said study team member Rowena Jenkins of the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. "It may even be several components working together."
