Scarsdale Open House
Our Scarsdale Open House was a huge success. We were able to meet a lot of local residents and share the benefits of Pilates and Gyrotonic as well as give out some fabulous door prizes! Pilates Winter Workout with Yael Lubar
Sliding Down the Wall:
1. Stand with your whole back against a wall. Walk your feet several inches out from the wall with your feet in parallel position. Bring your arms out in front of you at shoulder height with palms down.
2. Initiating from the Powerhouse, slide down the wall until your thighs are parallel to the floor. Make sure the knees do not go past the toes and that the whole foot is pressed evenly into the floor. Continue to maintain the back connection to the wall.
3. Hold for a count of 5 then slide back up the wall. Repeat 3 times.
4. To move away from the wall, continue to engage the Powerhouse as you press you fingertips into the wall and begin to walk forward.
Stay tuned for more seasonal workouts and on-the-go tips for in between your studio visits.

Water: Nature’s Miracle Potion
Your body needs water to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to all your organs. Water also transports oxygen to your cells, removes waste, and protects your joints and organs. At least twenty percent of the water your body needs will come from the foods you eat. The rest will come from the beverages you drink. So why not get the water you need from its original source? Water is calorie-free, delicious, and does not contain any unnecessary sweeteners that are found in soft-drinks, sodas and juices. Water replenishes your body and keeps you healthy and strong!
Remember: Staying hydrated is just as important in the winter as in the warmer months. We suggest drinking a full 8 oz. glass of water a half hour before eating a meal. This little tip will help fill you up!
