We are very excited that Stephanie will be focusing on her Pilates Certification with CFM, thereby reducing her desk hours at Lexington. Merita, our long-time evening desk assistant will be working Monday through Wednesday mornings. We also would like to welcome Kari to our Scarsdale desk staff.

Congratulations, Lisa!
Many of you have been asking about our instructor Lisa, and her new baby girl. Fabiana Solano was born on February 22nd, 2010. Mom and her adorable baby are doing very well, and we hope to see Lisa back teaching in the studio soon!

EXERCISE TIP: Get your legs beach ready with our great Side Kick Series.
Set up: Lie on your side, position your upper body so it’s even with the back edge of the mat. Bring your legs out to a 45-degree angle in front of the body. Bend your elbow and rest your head on your hand. Bring your other hand on the mat in front of your ribcage.
Front/Back: Lift the top leg hip height and turn the leg slightly from the hip. Pull your navel to your spine, kick the leg to the front and then reach it back. The leg swings like a pendulum. Repeat 10x.
Up/Down: Kick the top leg out and up toward the ceiling and then press the leg down resisting gravity and reaching long. Repeat 8x.
Small Circles: Lift the top leg hip height and turn out the leg slightly. Begin making small circles in clockwise direction. Repeat 8x, then reverse.
Remember: Keep the body still using your powerhouse while the legs move freely.
