Be a Smart Sheep: Our Customer Appreciation Program
Here's how it works: For every $350 in fiber purchases (yarn, coned yarn, spinning fiber) you will receive a coupon good for 60 days for $25 off your next purchase. The coupon may be redeemed against ANY purchase - equipment, classes, needles, whatever. Further, each time you redeem a coupon you will be entered in an annual drawing to receive a really nice prize -- this year a set of four dish towels, handwoven by Clara and designed by Joan. The annual drawing will be held at our New Year's Day Party. Each time you make a fiber purchase your rewards status will print on your receipt.

Greetings!

Clowning
Nancie and Debbie navigate the construction with elan and flare!

Construction continues for another 6 weeks, but don't let that deter you from coming in. There's no work on the weekends, just weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm. I keep wishing my grandson lived closer. Luke would LOVE watching all the heavy equipment. The workers must feel like they are working in a fish bowl -- there are children of all ages watching them make our Village more inviting.

GETTING AROUND IN DOWNTOWN:

Our shop is located on Flint Street. The street to the north of us is Shadbolt and it will remain open during construction. Actually Shadbolt is a good street to take if you are coming in from M-24 with or without construction. Our cross street is Anderson. There is parking behind the building and on the side (we are fortunate to have that extra parking!). If you are coming from Orion Road, you may have to follow signs to get to us, but right now, Flint Street remains open coming from that direction.

Handicap Access

The step up to our front door is pretty steep until they pour the sidewalks. We are more than happy to meet you at the back door and let you in where there are no steps. Just call when you park: 248-693-3690.

Another great construction coupon is at the end of the newsletter.

New in the shop

The Riveting is in! The name is very apropo - the yarn is made from pre-consumer waste and old blue jeans. It is soft next to the skin, has a nubbly texture, and there are lots of yarn in a skein. Click here to learn more.

Our shop sample of Riveting is this pair of bib overalls proudly worn by Freddie (knit with two strands held as one). This children's story and knitting book all-in-one is very sweet. This is the second by Joanna and her husband. Check out Freddie's Blanket and Phoebe's Sweater when you are in next time. They will make your inner-child smile!

Price Increases
You may have heard in the news that wool and cotton prices are going up in the world market. Yes, we have seen some increases, but nothing too scarey. Between the increases and the economy, the yarn companies have been working on creating quality yarns at a lower price point. The advantage to these yarns is that they are usually machine washable and often even dryable. Watch for a couple new yarns in this category this fall.
