| Be a Smart Sheep: Our Customer Appreciation Program |
Here's how it works: For every $350 in fiber purchases (yarn, coned yarn, spinning fiber) you will receive a coupon good for 60 days for $25 off your next purchase. The coupon may be redeemed against ANY purchase - equipment, classes, needles, whatever. Further, each time you redeem a coupon you will be entered in an annual drawing to receive a really nice prize including a $100 gift certificate and a handwoven "something" for the home. 2010's prize is a set of four dishtowels woven by Clara. The drawing will be held each year at our Annual New Year's Day Party. Each time you make a purchase your rewards status will print on your receipt. Complete details at HSW. | | Please support these vendors who contributed prizes to our fiber art show |

Dear (Contact First Name),
Our reward program (details at left) has been a success. If you have a rewards coupon that has not been redeemed, you might want to get in before the 31st and redeem it. Likewise, if you are close to earning a reward, you may want to get in before New Year's Day. The drawing for the set of handwoven kitchen towels will take place on 1/1 at noon.
New Year's Day Party and Sale We have hosted a New Year's Day party for several years now. It is a great way to wrap up the holidays. I will make two BIG pots of soup (one vegie and one not) and will have some very nice sales for you. It's a great time to redeem your Christmas gift certificates, too! The party is sort of like an open house. Come for the sale only or come and stay all day and knit/spin/weave/crochet and enjoy the conversation. There will be a puzzle set up in the back (fiber related, of course), Sandy will be doing henna from 11 to 2 (and donating 50% of the fee to Knit Michigan) and there seems to be a never-ending supply of yummy things both sweet and savory that are left by those that never go to a party empty handed! We'll be open regular shop hours from 10 to 4.
Knit Michigan 2011
Have you registered yet? Time to register to attend Knit Michigan 2011. This year all classes are open to everyone. Register for one, two or three classes. You can even prepay admission on-line using a credit card. We are very pleased with our new website, contributed and designed by Mary Rios, one of "our" weavers and owner of Rocket Girl Sites. Mary spent a LOT of time helping us get it to where it is now and we are very grateful for her ongoing help. Click here to register for Knit Michigan 2011. Mark your calendar now for Saturday, February 5, 2011. Hope to see you there! |
| Spinning Saturday is Back! | |
Dust those wheels off and come on in! We've given the day a new look: We will offer SPINNING HELP (you can use your Knitting Help card or pay $10 per session) from 10 to noon and OPEN SPINNING from 1 to 3 (or 4, when the shop closes) on the second Saturday of each month starting in January. Here's what you can expect from the SPINNING HELP sessions: Debbie and Cherie will be on hand to help you achieve the yarn of your dreams. If you'd like to learn how to hand card or use combs, they can help you. If you need to know how to take care of your wheel, they can help you. Want to make novelty yarn? They can help. Come for HELP, go grab a bite and return for social spinning. No help is offered in the afternoon, but I'm sure there will be lots of good conversation! |

Ring Out the Old; Ring in the New
Every year we assess where we are and plan how we are going to approach the new year. I plan to go through all my project bags and see if I really want to finish whatever it is, pulling out needles and reclaiming yarn where appropriate. Then I am going to make an inventory of my needles and see what I have. Perhaps I'll even note what project the needles reside with by using a 3 x 5 card in place of the needles in my needle carrier. I figure just a wee bit more organization will save me money. It is kind of exciting to think about actually. There's something freeing about regaining control over a portion of your life, even if it is just the yarn and needles part!
By the way, we just got in some very cool circular knitting needle organizers. As one of the staff to show them to you next time you are in.
Happy Holidays!
