| Be a Smart Sheep: Our Customer Appreciation Program |
Here's how it works: For every $350 in fiber purchases (yarn, coned yarn, spinning fiber) you will receive a coupon good for 60 days for $25 off your next purchase. The coupon may be redeemed against ANY purchase - equipment, classes, needles, whatever. Further, each time you redeem a coupon you will be entered in an annual drawing to receive a really nice prize including a $100 gift certificate and a handwoven "something" for the home. 2010's prize is a set of four dishtowels woven by Clara. The drawing will be held each year at our Annual New Year's Day Party. Each time you make a purchase your rewards status will print on your receipt. Complete details at HSW. | |

| Greetings!
Summer at Heritage Our Wednesday evening Knitting Help session will run through June 16 and then break for summer, resuming in September after Labor Day. The shop will also close at 5:00 during the same time. Beginning in July each Wednesday evening you will find many of us in the park enjoying free music. Bring your current project and join us! We will continue to be open seven days during the summer with the exceptions noted at left. Finally, at some point during the summer the downtown will be undergoing a facelift. It will not impact our hours, but it may change the door you use to enter the shop. If sidewalk work is happening in front of the store, the side door (on the north east side of the building) will be open for your use. When this happens, we will clearly mark the door so you can't mistake the entrance. Parking is still at the East side of the building and in the lot directly north of the store. There is a second village lot one block south of the store. We are quite fortunate with our easy access to parking. Downtown Lake Orion Events This Wednesday, May 5, the downtown Farmer's Market resumes for the summer. Held just a block from the shop, it is a great time to get farm fresh fruit and veggies as well as fresh baked goods and other yummy goodies. Plus, be one of the first to come this week and you'll get a free bag full of coupons from Lake Orion merchants. Then, coming up in just a few weeks is the Flower Fair, May 22 and 23. The downtown streets are closed and then filled with art and garden vendors. It is quite colorful and a great time to get your annuals.

Stacey and Su were excited about the new yarns that come in today. They are raving about a suuuuper soft sock yarn - you know, one of those yarns you just want to take off your clothes and roll in it is that incredible. This yarn is the first commercial yarn I've seen that incorporates angora - a full 20%. The balance is 50% Merino and 30% nylon. The yarn is On-Line SuperSocke 100, it has 460 yards and is machine washable. Amazingly enough with the price of angora, this retails for just $21.00 a skein. Colors for men and women:
Several books have come in that support our yarns: This Mirasol book has Father/Son patterns.

This one has Mother/Daughter patterns.

This book is a great starting point for any of our sock yarns. Congratulations to customer and Knitting Boot Camp graduate Tanya Thomann for being published - her knee socks are on page 34.
We also received new colors of Hempathy, Silky Wool and Bambool.
Plus quite a few new colors of Mulberry Silk along with a great Louisa Harding pattern book.

This is Carollann knit this - her first try at lace. She was too shy to model it, so her teacher, Shar, does the job for her.

Joy tried to do "stash busting" to knit this vest. Unfortunately, what she had in her stash didn't quite go far enough or give quite the right effect. So, back to the drawing board she went and ended up working this from Ella Rae Palermo and Brown Sheep Nature Spun from a pattern in the book Knit One Below.

Website update I can finally announce that our website has had it's first major update since we opened. It is now a bit more colorful and we've freshened the info on most of the pages. We still have a couple pages to go, but by and large, you'll get a better idea of what we have in store. Soon, very soon, I plan to introduce e-commerce so that you can actually purchase product on line (from home in your jammies!). I'll keep you posted! Special thanks to Jamisen for putting up with me as we went through the process of getting all the work done.
Happy Fibering!
