| Greetings!
Remember: We are closed today, tomorrow, and Saturday, June 25, 26 & 27 for the summer carnival. We will reopen on Sunday and invite you to come to Sit and Knit from 2 to 4.
Lake Orion trivia: did you know the carnival has been held in the center of downtown Lake Orion since the 1940s? This year's fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 4th at dusk. |

Here's a fun and useful addition to your knitting bag: a Kitchener Stitch cheat sheet in the form of a dog tag. I realize that many of you already have our Little Knitting Book and regularly use it for your Kitchener stitch helper. I, however, was in the Army (and Navy) and thought the dog tag was a clever solution to a problem I hear about from you all the time. Cute, isn't it? The knitting obsessed could even wear it as jewely that makes a statement!

And, here's a whole slew of notions that came in yesterday. New point protectors. Some, that double as reminders. Put the green point protector on the end of the needle where you will begin knitting and the red one on the other needle that the stitches are working towards. If you've ever turned around and gone the wrong direction in the middle of a row, you'll find value in these! Also, new novelty tape measures - these are just a sampling, the little square-ish things are lights that clip on and emit a powerful beam. One customer noted that she would put them on her dog's collar when they went for a walk in the dark!

This little box holds an afternoon's worth of fun! It is a dye kit that includes a skein of sock yarn and enough yarn to dye 1 pound of yarn (that's five skeins of yarn). Everything you need is included - even the rubber gloves. Have fun and make your own unique yarn following the instructions provided.

Class Spotlight:
UFO Summer Camp. Sunday, 7/5. This is your opportunity to come play inside a yarn shop for a day. It will be kind of like a lock in like the kids do. The shop is closed except for Summer Campers. Bring your UFOs and get some work done. Watch a movie, browse the books, take a walk, enjoy the company. How perfect is that? Details on the website.

Knitters, Speak Up!
Storey Publishing is developing a list of knitters' all-time favorites and would love for you to cast your vote. Here are their questions:
- What special projects do you think every knitter should make?
- What knitting techniques should every knitter master - or at least try?
- What are your favorite yarns to knit with, places to knit, patterns, knitting experiences?
Summer Fiber Retreat
There are still spaces available in the fiber retreat. Check the details here.
