Greetings!

Knit Michigan is behind us for another year (though paperwork continues) and we are very proud and happy to report that early counts show we raised a bit more money than last year - just over $30,000 - and about 100 more people participated in the day. Considering how other charities are doing, we are very, very pleased with the fruits of the day. Ann, our web site wonder is working on getting up photos from the day. Check in the next couple days and see what fun we had.

A special thank you to all who participated and all who made contributions to the silent auction and of items for the snack bar.
More new arrivals to the sock room

Two more new sock yarns came in this week. One was the hit of TNNA last month and has been doing well in yarn shops across the country. The other just plain makes you smile.

Heritage Sheep LogoMini Mochi is a new yarn from Crystal Palace Yarns that knits up in broad stripes, is very soft to the touch and has tons of possibilities. At TNNA I used this yarn to warp up a demo Knitter's Loom. On the loom you could see how graceful the color changes are. 195 yards, 50 grams. Blend of 80% merino and 20% nylon. Click here to see the yarn close up and here for a free wrister pattern.

Heritage Sheep LogoThe yarn that brings smiles is an On-Line sock yarn called Florida. The colors remind me of the color homes are painted in the Caribbean. Each skein has 100 grams/420 meters of yarn - enough for an average sized pair of Heritage Sheep Logosocks. I could also see this yarn used for kids knitting.

Heritage Sheep LogoHere's a breath of spring. This is Heather, grand daughter to Nancy Poettinger. Heather is wearing
a poncho made of Heirloom Easy Care 8, a machine washable merino. The pattern is from the book Top Down Toddler by Cabin Fever. The flowers are a reminder that there will be warm weather here again!
