Learning to use Thangles - Teacher: Robin Zimmer

Come and learn the technique for using Thangles, this wonderful tool will help you make the most of your quilting and short work of those half square triangles. This class includes kit and fabric needed.
Basic Machine Applique Class - Teacher: Robin Zimmer

Learn the techniques needed to do your own appliqué on quilts or other items. We will explore 2-3 different options using the sewing machine and stabilizers. This is not machine embroidery appliqué. Kit is supplied.
Paper Piecing Technique - Teacher: Vicki Brown

Do you have a hard time parting with your extra scraps, but don't know what to do with them? You've heard of paint by number, this is piece by number! Come learn the techniques used in paper piecing. This application has many uses, quilts, pillows, and wall hangings. Use your extra scraps of fabric up in no time. Come join in the fun while we learn the joys of paper piecing. Kit supplied. Basic sewing supplies needed.
Embroidery Club
Wednesday January 12th 1 to 2p.m Fee: None
Everyone with an embroidery machine is welcome. This is an opportunity to meet with other embroiders and share ideas and make fun projects. Club meets the second Wednesday of each month. Call for details as to what we are making and to get a supply list. Don't forget to bring your sew n tell.
Know you Sewing Machine - Teacher: Dorothy York

Are you having a difficult time with your new sewing machine that you purchased or was passed down to you from Grandma, mom, or Aunt Bessie? No one to teach you the basics? Bring your machine and let Dorothy teach you all the basic functions. Her many years of skill and expertise will leave you feeling confident and comfortable enough to start your adventures in sewing. This is for sewing machines only, no embroidery machines or sergers please.
Log Cabin Quilt (Beginner Quilting) - Teacher: Betty Adams

The Log Cabin Quilt Block is one of the oldest American Quilt Patterns. For those who have limited time available, this easy to make strip quilt can be done in an afternoon. The variations that you can make from this pattern are endless. You will learn to cut your strips and piece them using the assembly line method of sewing. Fun and easy to make, let Betty teach you the joys of quilting.

Basic Computer for Embroiderers - Teacher: Robin Zimmer

Learn the steps needed to transfer designs from CD to computer, create and save files, and organize your designs. This class will help you learn the skills needed to keep track of your designs and transfer them to your embroidery machine.
LeMoyne Star (Stack and Whack) - Teacher: Betty Adams
Saturday January 22nd 10:00 - 2:00 Fee $15
Back due to popular demand! Learn the simple yet beautiful technique of Stack and Whack. Each star makes a different pattern using the same fabric. This is truly an amazing style of piecing. You'll be hooked on the stack and whack technique. Fabric to be purchased from Fenton Sew N Vac. Basic sewing supplies needed.
Beginning Quilting - Teacher: Betty Adams
Wednesday January 26th 1:00-5:00 Fee: $20
Learn to make a quilt from beginning to end. We will be making the quilt block in class. You will piece, quilt and bind a small sample in one class. Use these methods to make other quilts or projects. Kit is supplied. Basic quilting supplies needed for class.
Kids Club
January 29th choose from 10:00, 12:00 or 2:00 class Fee: $15
You can register for class either at the store or by phone. Fees are due at the time of registration and can be paid in person at the store, by credit card over the phone, or with a check through the mail. A paid class fee is the only thing that guarantees your spot in class and prevents you from being "bumped: when the class fills.
Class registration closes three (3) days prior to the scheduled class date.
No fees will be refunded or credits issued for a missed class. Our commitment to our instructors does not allow make-up classes. Refunds or in-store credits will be issued only if: (a) The store cancels the class, or (b) You notify us three (3) days prior to the scheduled class date.
Only registered students may attend a class. Any one "sitting-in" must also register.
In order to provide high-quality sewing education, we ask that materials and supplies for classes be purchased at Sew N Vac whenever possible. Students are eligible to receive a 10% discount off regular priced merchandise for class materials and/or for purchases of regularly priced merchandise on the day of the class.
Please refrain from using colognes and perfumes; someone in class may have an allergic reaction to heavy fragrances.
The classroom opens 15 minutes before scheduled class time.
