LIMITED RELEASE OREGON PINOT NOIR ON HAND
2009 Le Cadeau Equinoxe Pinot Noir @ $60.99 Only 138 Cases Produced. Winemaker: Jim Sanders Stephen Tanzer 91 Points Vivid ruby. Sexy aromas of ripe blackberry, spicecake and dried rose, along with subtle notes of vanilla and underbrush. Plump and broad, offering open-knit red and dark berry preserve flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. Smooth and attractively sweet on the finish, which clings with very good tenacity and lingering spiciness. This will be drinkable soon but could age on its balance. The Équinoxe cuvee is made from the crest of the hill where the vines enjoy equal sun on both sides throughout the day. It is a full bodied wine, ripe with beautiful black and blue fruits and hints of Asian spices. Équinoxe is crafted by Jim Sanders; Jim Sanders and his wife, Kristin, lived at Beaux Freres where he learned his winemaking from his friend and mentor, Mike Etzel. 2009 Le Cadeau Rocheux Pinot Noir @ $60.99 Only 242 Cases Produced. Winemaker: Jacqueline Yoakum Stephen Tanzer 91 Points Bright ruby-red. Ripe cherry and blackberry on the nose, with complicating notes of smoky Indian spices and dried rose. Ripe and fleshy, with smooth dark fruit flavors gaining sweetness with air. Ample but energetic wine with very good finishing clarity and cling. This has the heft to work with rich red meat dishes, or strong cheeses. The Rocheux fruit comes from the rocky west-side of the vineyard-a 50/50 mix of separately fermented Pommard and Dijon 777. Flavors of cherry, red raspberry, Asian spices and lingering minerality form the core of this expressive old-world style Pinot Noir. Jacqueline Yoakum, formally assistant to Ted Lemon at Littorai and subsequently head winemaker at Nicholson Ranch, makes the Rocheux cuvee
