Erick's special Pinot Noir for this summer is "OPN" (Oregon Pinot Noir) produced and bottled by Walnut City Wineworks, McMinnville, Oregon. This is a non-vintage Willamette Valley wine. It was bottled from several vintages and contains some reserve Pinot Noir as well as non-reserve wine.
Many of you bought last year "Cambell Cellars" Pinot Noir, this year's selection is a better wine and value than Cambell. In our tasting test it is a true Oregon Pinot with all great characteristics one would expect in a top shelf Oregon Pinot Noir.
THE DEAL....BUY 0NE BOTTLE AT $29.99 AND GET A SECOND BOTTLE FOR ONE (.O1) CENT. (NO FURTHER DISCOUNTS). One does not find an Oregon Pinot of this quality at this price.
Destiny Dudley, who worked at Erick's for several years and left for the Oregon Wine Country in 2008, is now National Sales Manager for Walnut City Wineworks. We worked with her and our distributor to get this wine into North Carolina.
Erick's has a good supply but once it's gone it's gone. Do not miss out on this deal.
What Walnut City Wineworks says about themselves:
"Founded in 1999 by John Davidson and John Gilpin, Walnut City WineWorks celebrates not only a twenty-year partnership but a mutual love of the vine as well. Beginning with fruit that they grew Davidson and Gilpin envisioned a place where the wines produced would highlight the characters of the vineyard, yet remain free of pretension. Using the motto "growing great wines from the ground up", the partners, along with an excellent winemaking team lead by Miguel Lopez, have achieved this goal.
Davidson and Gilpin's initial business partnership was in vine grafting and planting. They currently own or manage more than 200 acres of vineyard land in the Willamette Valley. This experience with the varied soils and microclimates has provided them with a true sense of the terroir of their vines. With the addition of two other vineyards owners, Walnut City WineWorks' main focus is on Pinot Noir, but Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Gris are also proudly represented in the family of WineWorks wines. The Walnut City WineWorks team nurtures the unique qualities of each varietal from vine to bottle, letting the fruit guide the wine making process."
