ULTRASOUND
NEW TECHNOLOGY IN SKIN REJUVENATION |

I have developed a new line of treatments around Ultrasound. Ultrasound is a very exciting treatment new to skin rejuvenation. It has been used for years to view fetuses, for physical therapy and treating musculoskeletal ailments. Recently it has received a lot of attention in the anti-aging specialty because of it's ability to stimulate fibroblast activity, increase local circulation, and penetrate products deep into the skin. Clients who have had ultrasound treatments have noticed their skin being smoother, plumper, more moisturized and tighter, with a reduction in skin laxity.
A great benefit to the Ultrasound treatments is that there is no down-time. It is a very relaxing treatment, with no redness or irritation, and makeup can be applied immediately after the treatment.
It is a good summertime treatment because it can be done on tanned skin without any risks. It is also safe on higher Fitzpatrick skin types, unlike many light based treatments.
The ultrasound treatments begin with a cleansing of the skin, and a very quick, very light microdermabrasion. A customized blend of nourishing ingredients are placed on the skin and the ultrasound handpiece is rubbed over the skin driving them into the deeper layers of the skin. The ultrasound feels like a very gentle, comfortably warm facial massage. After the ultrasound, sun protection is applied and your skin will look very healthy and plumped up. Makeup can be applied if desired.

A regular microdermabrasion treatment can be performed before the ultrasound if exfoliation is needed.
An oxygen treatment can also be added. With this addition, hydrosol solutions are infused into the skin under the pressure of oxygen. Skin is flooded with natural oxygen and a combination of plants, peptides and water holding molecules. Oxygen infused hydrosols have a long history of providing multiple skin care benefits. Naturally occurring groups of phytochemicals reduce free radicals, improve circulation, stimulate cell metabolism and reduce bacteria. There are several hydrosols that can be used alone, or in a customized blend for anti-aging, derm-recovery, acne and rosacea.

INTENSE SKIN LIGHTENING PEEL

In addition to Intense Pulsed Light treatments for hyperpigmentation and melasma, I now have an intense skin lightening peel that is highly effective. The exciting thing about this treatment is that it is safe for all skin types, unlike the Intense Pulsed Light treatment that cannot be used on anyone with a Fitzpatrick 4 or above skin type (light brown to black skin), this peel is safe for anyone, including tanned skin.
The peel is a little different than most because there is no stinging at all. The mask is applied in office, however the patient goes home with it on, and depending on skin type, leaves it on up to 8 hours. Two days after the mask, the skin will peel, and it can be pink to red for up to 10 days, however makeup can be applied to hide the pinkness. A home-care program must be followed for one month after the mask, which includes a cream that is prepared specifically for you at the time of the treatment. The cost of this new treatment is $500, which includes $200 worth of follow-up products for home use.
Another version of this peel is available, called the Mini skin lightening peel. This peel is not as strong, is only left on for two hours, and the patient should not experience any peeling or redness. When done in a series of 4-6 treatments, every two weeks, skin lightening results will be similar to the intense peel. The cost of these individual treatments are $225 for the first peel (which includes take-home products), and $150 for follow-up peels.

In addition to new treatments, we have brought in a few new products. Our philosophy here at Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery Center is not to make anyone feel pressured into buying products, but offer them products that we know work. We make sure that all products we carry are effective and beneficial. All products that we carry here have been researched and tested before being offered to our patients. Many times patients ask if the products they are using are good. There are thousands of skin care lines, and unfortunately it is hard to comment on specific product lines. There are a lot of good and a lot of bad products out there. We know that the products and devices we recommend have the research behind them, are processed correctly, have the correct concentration of active ingredients in them and have proven results.
We are now offering Omnilux Clear-U, a handheld at-home LED device for the treatment of mild to moderate acne and rosacea. This unit is used at home for 20 and 30 minute treatments, twice weekly for a period of 4 weeks. The treatments can be repeated as needed. Omnilux test results showed that 69% of their subjects reported moderate to marked improvement in their inflammatory acne.
Want beautiful eyelashes? I think everyone knows about Latisse by now, the only FDA approved treatment for longer, thicker and darker eyelashes. If you want great eyelashes, this is definitely worth trying. Our clients and staff are giving rave reviews.
We are also now carrying Blinc mascara. It forms tiny water-resistant tubes around your lashes rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. Once applied, the tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump or flake even if you cry or rub your eyes. When you are ready to remove it, all you need is warm water and a little pressure and the tubes effortlessly slide off your lashes into your hand without the use of a harsh makeup remover - and best of all you won't wake up with racoon eyes.
