I realized, during lunch with one of our supporters on Wednesday, that I hadn't shared a recent development with you. I've been so busy
working on the March 25th  event with Ambassador Jawad, that I haven't had time to write about the other big ticket item on the 2010 wish list.( click here   for a description of both projects). One is no longer on the wish list. Before I explain why, I must first plead with the procrastinators to purchase their tickets now for next Thursday's event. The chefs preparing the Afghan appetizers need a head count.
What someone should invent is a time stamp ticket feeding system where appetizers are served in the order people purchase tickets. That way the early birds are assured of bolani and kabo. The procrastinators then run the risk of eating the PB&J finger rolls. I'm sure there is an electromagnetic wrist band solution that someone could invent.

Seriously though, we have yet to hold an event that people didn't thoroughly enjoy. This will be no exception. Ambassador Jawad obviously knows. He's traveling 3,000 miles to attend.

Now, why are we down to one item on the wish list?  Because Basir, one of TIE's program directors, and Aschiana, pulled the scattered pieces together, and you responded to the call for funding.
The Program includes a sewing component, always a good idea to include training in a marketable skill.

On March 1st, the accelerated education program was reinstated. The 120 girls in that program will no longer be "aged out"! For the details of this program click here.

The cost for the program is around $2500 per month, a little over $2
2 a month per student. Time and time
again I am confronted with this reality. It takes so little to be a life altering force in people's lives. As we continue to prove ourselves worthy of your support, you respond by making it possible to say Yes. I love being the messenger
