Trillium Awarded Three New CNG
Projects with San Diego MTS
Salt Lake City, UT - June 25, 2010 -
At
its June 24, 2010 meeting, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Board
of Directors awarded Trillium a contract for capital upgrades to its three CNG
fueling stations and a contract for 10 years of Operations and Maintenance
services (O&M) at the same locations. The contract with Trillium will
commence July 26, 2010 and have a total value of $14,687,000.
Highlights of the capital work include the installation of new Ariel
compressor packages and Trillium's Smart Controls package. The new equipment
will be integrated into MTS' existing CNG systems to augment the compression
and dispensing capacity while providing more cost effective operations. The
upgrade and integration work will be done without affecting regular fueling
operations at MTS.
Mark Barton, Trillium's President, remarked that "Trillium
is very pleased to be awarded this contract from MTS. The upgrade and
integration work at these sites is the most technically demanding project in
the industry today. Trillium has the expertise, technology and customer focus
to ensure that the job is done right."
Paul Jablonski, Chief Executive Officer of San Diego MTS stated
that "MTS is impressed with Trillium's operations and commitment to customer
service. Throughout the competitive bid process, Trillium demonstrated the
expertise needed to ensure the timely installation of facilities and the
delivery of superior maintenance services."
MTS is the largest user of CNG in San Diego County, and
operates 407 CNG buses, about 75 percent
of its bus fleet.
