Trillium Expands New York City Operations
New Contract Signed with MTA Bus Company
Salt Lake City, UT -
Apr 07, 2006
Trillium took over service and maintenance
operations of the CNG Facility at MTA Bus Company’s
College Point Depot, on March 1, 2006. This
contract marked the second significant expansion of
operations for Trillium this year.
The College Point Depot CNG facility, formerly known
as the Queens Surface Depot, was built in 1997. It
provides fuel for 245 buses that serve
travelers between Queens and Manhattan.
The contract was awarded to Trillium after a
competitive bidding process. The MTA Bus Board
Report cited Trillium’s performance record as a
significant factor in their decision. “Trillium has
designed, constructed and maintains the NYCT CNG
fueling facility located at the West Farms Depot and
has also refurbished and maintains the CNG facility
at the Jackie Gleason Depot. They have demonstrated
a high level of professionalism and a keen awareness
of the unique exigencies involved in the operation
of a New York City based transit system.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Trillium will
provide preventive, remedial and emergency
maintenance as well as 24-hour monitoring for the
CNG facility. The station will also be upgraded with
the installation of a new 1250 scfm compressor
package and new dispensers. “Taking over
service of a nine year old CNG facility you didn’t
build is
definitely a challenge, but we look forward to it.
Trillium has proven our capabilities on previous
takeover projects and we are eager to help MTA Bus
improve their CNG operations,” stated
Trillium’s
President Mark Barton.
