This Issue: SPRING-TIME SURPRISE

Wolverines are known as the smartest, cagiest, animals in the North.  Trappers can work years before catching one.  So we shared Ganglers CSAH guide Roy Sumner’s surprise when he was greeted with a startling site when he opened this spring.

On checking the baits at opening, he came upon a site none of us thought we would ever see.  There, at one of the barrels, was a dead wolverine with its head stuck in a small hole in the barrel.  The animal was still fresh with little signs of decay.  Roy was able to extricate the animal from its trap and take these pics.  What an amazing sight !
