This Issue: MANITOBA’S CARIBOU- YOUR BEST CHANCE AT A TROPHY CARIBOU

There is so much controversy and rumor surrounding some of the latest developments regarding Canada and Alaska’s caribou herds. The Manitoba caribou hunt has always been one of Canada’s finest and almost a secret to many hunters. With the recent developments in other areas, we believe it is now without question North America’s finest caribou hunt.  Here’s the fact on the Kaminuriak, (also spelled Qamanirjuaq) which is Manitoba’s herd.

1. The Manitoba herd is migratory, traveling south into Manitoba in late August/ September from their calving grounds in Nunavut.

2. The Kaminuriak herd is the Central Barrenground subspecies.

3. There are no population issues regarding the Kaminuriak . A census  was completed in 2008 confirming the healthy status of the herd. Herd  population is estimated at 350,000-450,000 animals. The Kaminuriak is in the healthiest shape of any of the North American caribou herds.

4. Only 600 licenses are issued annually in Manitoba for this herd.

5. There are only 6 licensed caribou outfitters in Manitoba.

6. A hunter can purchase two licenses through a licensed Manitoba outfitter.

7. Our licenses are allocated , not off a draw.

8. Guests may be repositioned by airplane and can hunt immediately, no
waiting period.

9. The Manitoba herd is your best opportunity for a trophy caribou.

Great 2010 Caribou

We recently received these pics and note from 2010 hunter Mark Beaudin. We feel Mark’s caribou will be one of the biggest, if not the biggest,  taken in Manitoba in 2010. We are still awaiting final scoring on this great animal.

Hi Ken,

Here are pictures of the wonderful caribou I got. If you need
anymore, let me know. I would also like to thank you for such a great time.
Your staff was fantastic. Stan did a great job running the camp and keeping
things in order. All the other guides were helpful and a lot of fun. The food
was awesome! And if you can get a hot shower on the tundra, well that’s a
great bonus. I can also say that the quality of clients in camp was
outstanding. I made a bunch of new friends.

Thanks again for everything and I'll
see you in Wisconsin or Reno.

Highest Regards,
Mark Beaudin

P.S. Please put me down as a reference.

The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of a great price is forgotten. It’s not just about $$$, your time is valuable and you can’t afford
to waste it.
