People will have the
opportunity to experience a timeless classic ballet performance this holiday season without traffic jams or costly parking. Saturday, December 5, 2009
at LaPorte Civic Auditorium at 3:00 p.m. the LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra in
partnership with Indiana Ballet Theatre will present a lovely matinee show "The Nutcracker" by It is a time honored story of fantasy
set to music which will delight all ages.
Indiana Ballet Theatre is
celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. La Porte County Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Phil Bauman, will also accompany their
performance at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville on December 2 & 3. The encore presentation with be a dance extravaganza as the ballet troupe finish their
holiday season at La Porte.
To accentuate the breathtaking production local dancers have auditioned and are rehearsing regularly at the La Porte Family YMCA with Gloria Tuohy the founder of Indiana Ballet Theatre. The Trinity Children's Choir directed by Sunny Gardner-Orbovich will be
performing for this spectacular
production as well.
