Whatcom County Farm Tour
We are proud of the farms in Whatcom County! Each September there is a farm tour showcasing many local farms throughout the county. Saturday, September 8, from 10am-5pm, you can enjoy a rural ramble while learning about local food and farms. Whether you stop in at Bellewood Acres to enjoy the apple tasting bar, Silver Springs Creamery for Jersey milk ice cream, or Cloud Mountain Farm for peppers and cider, you won't want to miss the Farm Tour this year. You can stop in at the Visitor Center to pick up your map or download a copy here.

Catapult through four "giant" waterslides, a six story speed slide, a black hole enclosed tube slide; PLUS ... for thrill seekers a 60 foot hydro-cliff drop slide; a high-speed free-fall body slide, and a popular river ride where you can join your friends for a ride down the rapids on a single, double or triple tube. They also have an oversize hot tub, a ramp slide, activity pool, volleyball, and basketball.

Festival 542 - Sept 8-9
Festival 542 includes family events, arts, live music and food. Bicycle and foot races along Highway 542 up to Mt. Baker take place both Saturday and Sunday.

 

A multi-sport event celebrating the life-cycle of wild salmon and the natural and urban challenges of their journey. Solo, tandem and relay teams challenge themselves and one another on a rugged course that highlights the City of Bellingham's Parks, Greenways System, bike-friendly roads, and open water.

 

The return of Fairhaven's September Salmon Barbeque that was so famous and fun in the 1980s. Serving is from 1 to 4 pm on the Village Green. Menu includes BBQed wild King Salmon, cole slaw, roll, corn on the cob, beverage and dessert, all for $15. Hot dogs, beverage and desert for kids is $6. Admission is free to the Village Green and there is live music.

 

Muds to Suds - Sept 23
17+ dirty obstacles that combine athletic stamina and your childhood fantasy of playing in the mud. You will need endurance to complete the 3 mile course, humility to wallow in the mud and a smile to show off at the finish line! Takes place at Hovander in Ferndale.

My Fair Lady - Sept 26-30
The Broadway and film classic "My Fair Lady" comes to the Mount Baker Theatre stage for the first time! A follow-up to last year's groundbreaking "Into the Woods," includes such timeless standards as "I Could Have Danced All Night," "Get Me to the Church on Time," "The Rain in Spain," and, of course, "Wouldn't It Be Lovely?" This Lerner and Loewe favorite has been pleasing audiences since the Oscar-winning 1964 film adaptation starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn. 

 

Experience the natural beauty of Bellingham Bay, San Juan Islands, mountain views and a touch of trail in Bellingham, Washington. Enjoy what many runners have commented is "the most beautiful marathon in the Pacific Northwest. BBM offers full marathon, half marathon, and 5k marathon courses with low elevation gain, beautiful seascapes, island views and mountain vistas, along country and urban roads, and along a wonderful trestle and dock over water.
