Last week's question, "When you visit Pigeon Forge do you get out and enjoy the Smoky Mountains? Or do you stay in town for all the fun activities and attractions?"
Linda from Louisiana says, "Although Pigeon Forge has many wonderful attractions for all ages, we head to the backroads. My husband and I discovered the natural beauty of the Smokies many many years ago. We pack up an ice chest, fill our truck with gas and head out for a day of exploring. We have found many beautiful waterfalls, creeks, wildflowers, and best of all, quiet respites from the hustle & bustle. This tradition has carried over to our kids and grandkids. When my daughters, neice, and I take a girls trip, we rent jeeps and do the same thing. Parson's Branch is our favorite. We take the long way back thru Cherokee and just love exploring. Then we get ice cream and head to the cabin for nice relaxing time in the hot tub! Doesn't get any better than that!"
Ryan from Wisconsin writes, "My fiancé Tonya and I come to enjoy the mountains. We do the occasional show or putt putt golf, but getting into the park is the best. There are endless possibilities once you get into the park. It is a national treasure."
Jim says, "We do both! There is nothing that compares to the beauty of God's Great Smoky Mountains. Hiking the awesome trails, watching the bears and all of the amazing animals, dining on the rocks in the rivers, taking picture after picture and just losing ourselves in the entire Smoky Mountain scene is like being in the closest thing to paradise this side of Heaven. The fun doesn't stop there however. Pigeon Forge is our most favorite town of all! Dollywood is amazing and we cannot wait to soar on Wild Eagle. Every live show in town is top notch and fills our visits with memorable pleasure and joy. Pigeon Forge offers some of the best dining in the world, great shopping, thrilling attractions and we cannot wait to return. Perhaps the only thing that outdoes the class of Pigeon Forge is the genuine hospitality and sincere friendliness of the people living there. | Synchronous Firefly Reservations Sold Out!

 After the new reservation system for the synchronous firefly viewing was announced, word must have spread quickly because in just one week they were all sold out! The park did hold back 25 passes per day for those who were unaware of the new procedure and those tickets will go on sale the day before the next viewing at 10 a.m. So if you still want a chance to see the fireflies be sure to mark that on your calendar and set a reminder because those 25 tickets could sell out in a matter of minutes!

| Wilderness Resort Expansion

 The Wilderness at the Smokies new attraction will open next month! A 66-foot near vertical waterslide that will take visitors only seven seconds to make their way down. It's called the Wild Vortex! It will be a translucent circular tube that sends riders down through a trap door and will be visible from Hwy 66 and from the resorts lazy river. This new addition is one of seven the Wilderness has has since it opened in 2008.
