Question of the Week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section is dedicated to you, our readers! Feel free to reply to this email with any of your fun stories from your vacation in Pigeon Forge. Send us photos, memories, travel tips, anything that you would like to tell us about your experience in the Smokies. Every week we will highlight reader's comments in this article. Thanks for all the feedback. We love to hear from you!
This week's question, "What are your favorite outdoor activities to participate in during the fall season in the Smokies?"
Last week's question, "We have a lot of fun events coming up with the fall Rod Run, Harvest Festival and then Winterfest.  What 2011 event are you looking forward to?"
Vickie says, "The Fall Rod Run is what I hope to come to see, and would love to go to the Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival, love Pigeon Forge in the fall!!!"
Johnny writes, "My best time would be Winterfest, the lights and hot cider, all the smells of the Christmas season..I'm 59 but during Winterfest the young kid comes out in me..lol..we want to come to the chili cookoff this year..looking forward to it."
Texanna says, "I love to come to Pigeon Forge anytime during the year, but fall is my favorite time.  I am five years old, I love to shop with my granny, attend the Eagle Show (Veteran's Day Program) in Gatlinburg with my papa who is a Vietnam Veteran, papa has been bringing me to it since I was eleven months old.  I really like seeing all the Christmas decorations and some fall decorations are still out.  I like to go to the Comedy Barn.  Any other show that has started their Christmas shows.  I love to take helicopter rides with my papa.  So I'll be seeing you in November with papa and granny for a fun filled week."
The Edward's write, "We are coming down Thanksgiving weekend and going to enjoy dollywood..we have been down before to see the lights but never to dollywood. Very excited!"
Feeling Like Fall!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We're really starting to see the beginning signs of fall here in Pigeon Forge and in the Smoky Mountains.  The temperature has dropped and we're now seeing highs in the 80's (in the 70's this weekend) and we're event starting to see the slightest color change in the higher elevations.  There is just a touch of yellow leaves in our mountains, but that is just enough to get us excited about the upcoming fall season.  Coming up this week in Pigeon Forge events is the Grand Fall Rod Run which kicks off this Thursday. If you're not in town this week, be sure to check out all the other fall events that are coming up and you can plan your trip to Pigeon Forge around your favorites! Also, be sure to check out the Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival for more fall events and lots of fall fun!

Pigeon Forge Beer Ordinance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As of August 19 a new beer ordinance has been passed where consumers can enjoy a beer with their meal on an outdoor patio at Pigeon Forge restaurants.  Before the passing of this ordinance Pigeon Forge restaurants could serve beer inside but not on their outdoor patios. The ordinance has taken effect but don't expect to get a beer on a patio today.  This will take a while for all the Pigeon Forge restaurants to implement.  They will go through an application process, each patio will be inspected and must pass all the restrictions.
