Renee writes, "I am SO ready for Summer to leave! It has been an extremely hot Summer. I would be one happy person if we could skip the Summer months all together. I love the Fall, the colors are so vibrant and beautiful. Winter is just wonderful, Hot Chocolate, Bon Fires, and hot Apple Cider is a great way to warm up. We just love Dollywood and Christmas time. Spring time when everything is new again is good too. Just wished we could have take out Summer and stretch the other three season to 4 months each instead of 3 months."
Carolyn writes, "We always look forward to Fall because we make a trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg every November. We enjoy the weather at that time of year. All of the Christmas decorations are up in each town and all of the theaters are performing their Christmas shows. The outlet malls have great sales in the Fall so we can do a bit of Christmas shopping. We especially enjoy our visits to Dollywood in November because of all the beautiful lights and Christmas in the Smokies is our favorite show." |
| Princess Tea Party
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  The Titanic Pigeon Forge is hosting a very special Princess Tea Party for all the little princesses out there! You will experience a time-honored ritual in gracious living. There will also be mini-manner lessons taught by Titanic's First Class Maid Jamie. Each princess will also learn etiquette, proper table settings and service skills while enjoying finger sandwiches and cookies. All followed by a tour of the Titanic Museum. The Princess Tea Party will be on Saturday, September 24 and ages 5 - 15 are welcome. The cost is $22 per child (ages 5-15) and $25 per adult. Prices include Tax, Tea Party & Admission to the Museum. | Grand Rod Run

 It's about time to start planning for the Grand Fall Rod Run, September 15 - 19! Bring your classic car or just come to enjoy the scenery, cool cars and great people! Cars will line the parkway in Pigeon Forge and visitors can spend the day looking over the amazing amounts of cars, trucks and new products. The participants in these car shows are so eager to get the weekend started that the Parkway and hotel parking lots begin to fill with classic cars on Tuesday of that week. The events feature more than just rare and unique autos, though. Throughout the event weekend, visitors can enjoy interactive displays presented by vendors from all over the country.

Bears in the Smoky Mountains
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  The Great Smoky Mountains National Park was rated one of the "13 Best Places in the U.S. for Wildlife Viewing" by Budget Travel Magazine. The magazine ranked the park the best place in the nation to see American Black Bears. The article estimates the black bear population at about 1,500 which is about two bears per square mile! They say the "perfect spot" is in the Cades Cove area of the park.
In other bear news, a bear who was spotted with a plastic jar on its head about 4 weeks ago has finally received some much needed help. The black bear was spotted wondering around the Smokies with a large plastic jar on its head as far back as June 28! After several spottings and phone calls to the National Park Service, a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wildlife officer was finally able to shoot the bear with a tranquilizer dart gun on July 17.
