Question of the Week! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section is dedicated to you, our readers! Feel free to reply to this email with any of your fun stories from your vacation in Pigeon Forge. Send us photos, memories, travel tips, anything that you would like to tell us about your experience in the Smokies. Every week we will highlight reader's comments in this article. Thanks for all the feedback. We love to hear from you!
This week's question, "We have a lot of new Restaurants in Pigeon Forge, where is your favorite spot to eat while visiting Pigeon Forge?
Last week's question, "When visiting the Smoky Mountains what is your favorite activity? Hiking, camping, tubing, etc. and why?"
Sue writes, "We have to go to Dollywood every day possible while in Pigeon Forge. A must see at Dollywood is the Kingdom Heirs, that means every show, every day!!!!! If it is open, Splash Country is a good place to enjoy the day. Our granddaughter loves it!!!! Can't forget the free bluegrass music in the evenings at the Gazebo. Last time we were in Pigeon Forge Elvis was putting on a free show on the Parkway. A stop at the Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen in Gatlinburg is a must too!!! Can never have too much chocolate!!! Smoky Mountain National Park is beautiful to see also. So many things to do....so little time!!!!!"
John says, "Without a doubt, my favorite thing to do when I visit the Smoky Mountains, is to drive through Cades Cove. There is just something about that place that makes you feel closer to God and his creation. During a visit about a year ago, I actually filmed two large bucks fighting, but not hurting each other. Then after about 30 min. they quit and went in separate directions. It was awesome! As an avid deer hunter, this was a once in a lifetime experience and I have the DVD to watch. It is so peaceful and beautiful. My wife and I look so forward to our Cades Coves drive and will be there this Fall many times to take in the breathtaking views. Thanks to everyone that has a hand in its preservation." |

| The Release of Two Bald Eaglets From Dollywood's Eagle Center
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The American Eagle Foundation released a pair of 13-week old bald eaglets last Thursday, July 14. They have named the eaglets the "Duke and Duchess of Cambridge" in honor of the royal couple. The two eaglets were born at the Foundation's United States Eagle Center at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. One of them even hatched the day of the Royal Wedding. They were released from an artificial nesting tower on Douglas Lake last Thursday. This is not only another step in our efforts to bring back eagles to America's lands, waterways and skies, but a special opportunity to celebrate the marriage of William and Kate," said AEF Founder & President Al Louis Cecere. The AEF also says they intend to release up to six captive-hatched eaglets into the wild this summer
