Helen writes, "Any time of the year is a great time to visit Pigeon Forge or the Great Smoky Mountains. We like to visit in June the weather is perfect not to hot, perfect for walking around town or a quite walk on one of the many trails in the mountains, but for a fun filled time the Fourth of July is great, we love the midnight parade in Gatlinburg, and the fireworks in Pigeon Forge, what a great time! We plan to visit this month.
Jeff and Vicki say, "I think fall is our favorite time of the year to visit. The colors are spectacular and there's a briskness in the air. Actually, anytime in Pigeon Forge is a delightful time."
Ray and Maudrey, "Our favorite is the Thanksgiving week and around there. Lower elevation fall leaves still attractive. The mountain snow was there on 2 or 3 occassions, being from South Louisiana, way South, it is an experience for us. We like most every Show, and do those that serves a meal! Comedy Barn is a must on each visit. Keep our weekly notes coming."
Johnny writes, "My favorite time of the year to visit would be during the Christmas holidays during winterfest..we always go to the Christmas Store and get us a ornament for our tree with the year and our names..the beautiful lights and the Christmas smells always bring out the kid in me..i'm 58..lol...I just love it." |

Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  The Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival will be held on the Fourth of July in Patriot Park and usually draws thousands of Independence Day celebrants! The Patriot Festival is a family friendly event with great entertainment, food, games and of course fireworks. Restless Heart will be the headliner for the event with afternoon entertainment. Restless Heart is a five member band that has had four gold albums and six No. 1 country singles. The Return, a Beatles tribute band and a local bluegrass group, Jimbo Whaley & Greenbrier will also play at the festival along with some other great musicians. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to come celebrate the Fourth of July with us in Patriot Park!

| Smoky Mountain National Park App

June 4 - 12: Synchronous Fireflies in Elkmont - Every year during the firefly mating season the fireflies in Great Smoky Mountains National Park begin to flash in unison. Trolleys take the visitors from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to Elkmont nightly beginning at 7:00 p.m. and the cost is $1. There are no other vehicles allowed in the Elkmont area after 5:00 p.m. during these dates.
