Caroyln writes, "My husband and I visit Pigeon Forge every fall, and sometimes add a spring trip as well. We love to take scenic drives in the National Park, especially Roaring Fork...we do this drive every time we come to Pigeon Forge. We love it best in the fall when all the leaves are changing color. I love that there is a variety of things to see along this drive..we've seen wild turkeys and deer...all the waterfalls and hikes are great stops along the way as well. I love to stop at the Ogle homes, it always amazes me how all those people lived in those small cabins in the heart of the mountains. My favorite stop along this drive is Thousand Drips Falls...we always climb up the rocks and get a picture taken. It is so beautiful, and I never tire of the scenery, or the fresh smell. If you've never done this drive in the park, I would highly recommend it as it gives you an overall sense of the Smoky Mountain National Park, without taking up your whole day...unless of course, you want it too. :)" |

Hatfield & McCoy April Opening!

 One of the new shows that will be opening in Pigeon Forge this year is set to open this month! The Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show will premier their first show Tuesday, April 26. The Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show promises to be the best part of your vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains. The show is packed full of action, excitement and comedy and not to mention the great dinner served with the show. The full southern homestyle feast includes: feudin' fried chicken, open pit pulled-to-pieces pork barbeque, southern style creamy soup, smashed mashed taters, bust yu'r jeans pinto beans, keep it comin' cornbread, no tellin' what's in it coleslaw and granny's famous specialty dessert. Spring Events in Pigeon Forge!

The Spring Grand Rod Run kicks off the car show season with classic Fords, Chevy/GMCs and Gold Wings April 15 - 17. April 26 - 30 is the 61st Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage. Celebrate the beauty of Great Smoky Mountains National Park with over 150 different programs, including hiking tours, motorcades, demonstrations and classroom lectures centered on the flowers, plants and wildlife in the great outdoors. On April 28, all you rib and wing lovers will LOVE Gatlinburg's Ribfest & Wings Celebration! Visitors enjoy a sampling of the area's best ribs and wings as well as free live entertainment during this popular ninth annual event. One admission price allows sampling until the ribs and wings run out.

Captain Jim's Seafood Buffet

 We have a new restaurant opening in Pigeon Forge, a seafood buffet! Captain Jim's Seafood Buffet will be opening this April and we couldn't be more excited about it. Captain Jim's Seafood Buffet is the only seafood buffet in Tennessee and is locally owned and operated. We're so lucky to have this one of a kind seafood buffet right here in Pigeon Forge! Captain Jim is sure you'll enjoy your dining experience at Captain Jim's Seafood Buffet! The restaurant will offer an authentic seafood buffet with 70 - 80 items the entire family can enjoy. The event honors 1LT Frank Walkup, a University of Tennessee-Knoxville alumnus who in 2007 was killed in the line of duty in Iraq. Pre-registration is required.
