Spring Road Openings
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Springtime calls for road and campground openings in the Smoky Mountains! Most of the openings will take place this Friday, March 11. The three Smoky Mountain visitor centers are open daily all year. Check their locations and hours for more information about the National Park. Road Openings: Little Greenbrier, Rich Mountain, Straight Fork/Round Bottom, and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. Campground Openings: Abrams Creek, Elkmont, Cosby and Look Rock (TN campgrounds). Big Creek and Cataloochee (NC Campgrounds). These are not all the Smoky Mountain road and campground openings. For a list of later road and campground openings check out the full list on our blog.

| Titanic Hosts an Irish Descendant

The Titanic Pigeon Forge is hosting an Irish Celebration the entire month of March to honor the hardworking, skilled Irish laborers that helped build the Titanic in Belfast, Ireland. The Titanic is hosting a very special guest during their Irish Celebration, Susie Millar, who is the granddaughter of Thomas Millar of Belfast who was one of those hardworking Irishmen who worked on the Titanic. Susie Millar will arrive in Pigeon Forge March 19 and will be at the Titanic daily through Wednesday, March 23. In honor of her visit, Titanic has a special display focused on Millar's great grandfather Thomas Millar.

Springfest Kickoff!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  We are finally shifting into spring here in East Tennessee. The Pigeon Forge Springfest celebration kicks off this Friday, March 11. Springfest is a three month celebration packed full of events and lots of home-spun fun! From the Spring Grand Rod Run in April to Sevierville's Bloomin' BBQ and Bluegrass celebration and the Dolly Parade in May there are plenty of fun events for all during Springfest!
