| Question of the Week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section is dedicated to you, our readers! Feel free to email us any of your fun stories from your vacation in Pigeon Forge. Send us photos, memories, travel tips, anything that you would like to tell us about your experience in the Smokies. Every week we will highlight reader's comments in this article. Thanks for all the feedback. We love to hear from you!
This week's question, "Where is your favorite spot in Pigeon Forge for a family vacation photo?"
Last week's question, "What are some of your New Year's resolutions? Perhaps visit Pigeon Forge more in 2011?"
Melinda writes, "My new year's resolution is always the same because it works out so well. It's to try something new. Usually the Smokies is the place it happens. I've tried different trails, new attractions, new restaurants. This year I plan on trying out a Zipline. Really looking forward to it."
Deborah says, "Wow, 2010 is almost history, what a year! We visited Pigeon Forge several times, in 2011 we're planning on returning to check out some of the new shows. I've checked the line up for First Class Productions at Country Tonite and hope to see about three shows. The lineup this year is as good, if not better than last year. I hope to see yall around Valentine's for a few days." |
Memories Theater, The Show Must go on!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Memories Theatre was scheduled to perform their final show last Saturday night (Jan. 1) before closing their doors for good. The 800+ people who showed up to watch the final show were ecstatic to hear this would not be the final show after all! The theatre decided the show had been far too successful to shut their doors and they needed to find a new location. The deal come through the day of the final show for the theatre to move to the former Oldies Showplace Dinner Theatre next to the Country Tonite Theatre. The name of the show and website will stay the same. The new theater will have about 300 - 400 seats, downsizing from the original theater's 800 seats, and will not be a dinner theater. The new show will have the same concept as Memories, just on a smaller scale. The new location show will begin this spring at 140 Showplace Blvd in Pigeon Forge.
