White Christmas in Pigeon Forge!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
East Tennessee doesn't get too much snow, so it's a pretty big deal when there's talk of a white Christmas.  This year,  it wasn't all talk!We ended up seeing a lot of snow all across East Tennessee!  Most, if not all, of Sevier County had snow on the ground.  There were around 2 inches around most parts of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville.  Gatlinburg and the National Park saw a little more.  The Sugarlands Visitor Center reported 2 - 3 inches of snow and 3 - 5 inches in the mountains.  The snow kept falling all weekend making for a very white and fun Christmas weekend
New to Pigeon Forge in 2012!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Hollywood Wax Museum that was on the parkway in Gatlinburg closed this year.  The NEW Hollywood Wax Museum is set to open in Pigeon Forge in the Spring of 2012 in the building the Dinosaur Walk Museum previously occupied.  This upgrade for the Hollywood Wax Museum is going to be huge. With a $15 million investment, the museum will be moving into a three story building with 30,000 square feet. The museum will be similar to the one previously located in Gatlinburg only much bigger and much better!  The exterior will show a model of the New York skyline with King Kong climbing a skyscraper.  They will also have a Hollywood version of Mount Rushmore and a replica of the Hollywood sign.  This is going to be such a fun addition for Pigeon Forge!
