John and Debi write, "The Black Bear Christmas Spectacular is our favorite and this is the last year. We are so upset...Love this place! This has been a family tradition for years and I will be there next week to see it for the last time. Our next favorite is the Dixie Stampede. Awesome. And then it is on to Dollywood for all the Christmas shows! Cannot wait. Merry Christmas to all!"
Carolyn says, "My favorite Christmas shows in Pigeon Forge are Christmas in the Smokies at Dollywood and The Smith Family Christmas Show. We enjoy being in the Smokies each year for the week of the Winterfest kickoff in each town. The lights are pretty, the shows are great, and the crowds are small."

 Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg are always offering fun and exciting new attractions for their visitors. Be sure to know all about the upcoming attractions in 2011 and 2012! There will be new shows: The Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud and Stunt Show and The Lumberjack Show. | Ober Gatlinburg is Open!

We've had some very cold temperatures over the past couple weeks and even quite a bit of snow, which has been perfect for opening season at Ober Gatlinburg! As of today, December 13, they have a 20-45 inch base with 6 inches of new natural snow! They have 6 runs open along with the terrain park and snow tubing. Come out to Ober for a full day of skiing or boarding (noon - 10pm) for only $30, and if you get here after 6 it's only $15! Snow Tubing hours and rates differ, so be sure you know before you go! You must purchase tickets for a snow tubing session and they sell out very quickly, so be sure to check the dates, times and rates!

| Wilderness Wildlife Week!

 January is right around the corner so start planning to check out some of the great Wilderness Wildlife Week events! The 21st Annual Wilderness Wildlife Week,™ will be held January 8-15, 2011. There will be a full schedule of outdoor recreational activities that will unite visitors with the rustic beauty of nature in the Smokies. Nearly 100 mountain experts will guide guests on walks, hikes, seminars, hands on workshops and lectures on topics ranging from Smoky Mountain history to plant and animal habitation. There will be many special events for children and families alike, with hikes through the Smokies ranging from peaceful strolls to demanding, multi-mile voyages; storytelling, fishing, music, photography and more. Wilderness Wildlife Week has something stimulating for any age, bringing thousands of nature lovers to Pigeon Forge each year, it is recognized for its contributions to environment and education by the International Festivals & Events Association.
