| Snow Report from the Smokies!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Pigeon Forge saw a little glimpse of winter this weekend with snow flurries all over East Tennessee. Saturday night and Sunday we saw flurries in town and there is plenty of snow in the mountains! Mt. LeConte's blog reported on Tuesday, December 7, they had around 2 feet of snow! (Shown in the photo.) The temperatures will continue to be low for the next couple days with a possibility of flurries today and maybe even some this Sunday and Monday. If you're traveling to Pigeon Forge this week, be sure to check the weather so you're prepared for the early winter cold temps!

| Ober Gatlinburg Ranks Among Top Ski Destinations

AOL Travel recently published a list of the Nation's Top 10 Ski Destinations. Most people would not consider East Tennessee a winter sport destination, but Ober Gatlinburg was placed at the top among other great ski destinations. Ober made the list not for the number of runs or skiable acreage, but for their top of the line snow making systems, the views of the Smoky Mountains and the tram that goes down to the city of Gatlinburg. Ober Gatlinburg had an excellent ski season last year and is expecting the same this winter season. They hope to be open within the next week!
