Great Turnout for the Pigeon Forge 8K! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  The Pigeon Forge Midnight 8K brought to you by PigeonForge.com was a great success. It was the revival of a midnight race that used to take place on the Parkway Pigeon Forge. There was a great turnout of around 400 participants where everyone was having a great time! The course was on the parkway in downtown Pigeon Forge, followed by awards, pizza and drinks at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center. |

Dolly Announces Her New Addition for 2011! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Dolly just announced her new addition to the park for 2011 - The Barnstormer. The attraction will be a barnyard-themed section of the park that was inspired by the daring aerialists and stunt pilots of the 1920s. The Barnstormer is a giant swing that is designed to give riders a feel of what it would be like being a passenger in one of the planes. The ride has two pendulum arms that seats 32 riders. Seated back to back, riders travel progressively higher on each swing of the Barnstormer's massive arms, reaching a maximum speed of 45 miles per hour and 230 degrees of rotation. At its peak, the Barnstormer reaches 81 feet in the air, taking riders high above the barn's rooftop and the area's treetops.
