Kim writes, "This year my family and I are coming to visit for the 6th year. We are coming the week of July 17th and each year my family looks forward to tubing down the "Little River". Each year our family of 7 pack up a lunch, put on the suits, and head to River Rat rentals and always have the best time making our way down the river for an entire day of fun. We range in age from 9 to 63. Great way to make family memories."
Kay says, "We are coming to Pigeon Forge in August to renew our Wedding Vows. It will be our 40th anniversary and couldn't think of any other place we would rather be than in the Smokies. We really love it there and always look forward to our trips."
The Pruitts write, "Seeing the completed work that was done on Cades Cove Loop. We love to go through and devour the majestic beauty that God created. Reminder, everyone should donate at the designated donation boxes. If you don't, it is a shame! You can't see anything like it for a few bucks. (no pun intended) We will be coming that way shortly. And then starting around 1st of October it will be awesome. One trip in October, another in November and several in December...It will be here before I know it! Words cannot describe the Fall beauty...Crisp, clean air, all the smells, not too hot or not too cold, just right! We can't wait!" |
Beat the Heat!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Summer is here and it is HOT! Make sure you don't get stuck out in the heat while enjoying some of your favorite Pigeon Forge activities. Here are a few tips to stay cool while enjoying your favorite activities. If you decide to venture out into the Smoky Mountains biking, hiking or camping, make sure to take water and stay near a river so you can take a break and cool off. You could also even rent tubes and tube down the river or try whitewater rafting! If you're not much into getting sweaty or into the river but would love to enjoy the scenery of the Smoky Mountains, try taking a scenic drive through Cades Cove or on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Pigeon Forge Midnight 8K Race ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  If you haven't heard about this race make sure you check it out! This race originated back in the 80's, was around for about 15 years and this will be its first year returning! PigeonForge.com is sponsoring and we would love to see everyone out there! The Pigeon Forge Midnight Road Race 8K is a Knoxville Track Club race and will take place July 31st at midnight. Sign up before July 16 for $20, late registration through July 28th for $25 and at the race for $30. You can also put a team together for the race. Hope to see you there!

July 3: 20th Annual Patriot Festival at Patriot Park in the heart of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Festivities get started at 1:00 p.m. The City of Pigeon Forge offers many musical performances, food from local non-profit organizations, several inflateables and activities for children; THEN the night sky will come to life with a fantastic fireworks display! The fireworks usually start at 9:30-9:45 p.m.
July 3 - 4: Midnight Independence Day Parade - For the 35th consecutive year, Gatlinburg kicks off America's Independence Day celebration with the nation's first parade, which leads off at midnight (12:00 a.m.) on Saturday.
