Last week's question, "Spring Break is right around the corner! Has anyone spent Spring Break in the Smokies? Tell us about it."
Amanda writes, "We spent spring break there last year with 2 other families and had so much fun! We rented a big cabin that had a beautfil view! We will be back again this year on march 17th to do it again! This year we will be taking in the Dixie Stampede and are so excited about! Cant wait to be back in my favorite place!!"
Jeannette says, "My family and I spent spring break of 09 in the smokies, we loved it there.We spent 3 nights and 4 days there. We stayed in a cabin,we went thru a lot of the shops while there. We went into Cooters and also Stars for Cars, we ate breakfast at flapjack pancake cabin a couple of mornings loved the food.We also spent some time back at the cabin playing pool and enjoying the hot tub.We are coming back again this spring break, we have booked another cabin, we love Pegion Forge & Glatinburg.Looking forward to coming back."
Margaret writes, "Spring break always brings me to the Smokies! Every year I think that I will plan to do something different, but I can't miss out on my chance to come back to the Smokies! 36th Winter Carnival of Magic Convention
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  More than 350 magicians will descend upon Pigeon Forge as the 36th Winter Carnival of Magic convention takes place March 4 through 6 at the Country Tonite Theatre. The annual convention will be highlighted by two spectacular magic and illusion shows open to the public, featuring award-winning performers from around the world. Reserved seat tickets for the public shows are $15 for adults (10 and over) and $5 for children under 10. Pigeon Forge Springfest
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Springfest marks the beginning of springtime in the beautiful city of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It is a celebration packed full of nearly three months of home-spun fun. Some of the events included are: A Mountain Quiltfest, the annual StringTime in the Smokies, The Dolly Parade, The Spring Grand Rod Run, and Dollywood's Festival of Nations. This years Springfest will be held from March 15, 2010 - June 5, 2010.

Cades Cove is Closed Until May ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Unfortunately, Park officials have recently announced that they will be closing the 11-mile Cades Cove loop for about 3 months. The road will be closed to all traffic from March 1 through May 21, 2010. Also, bad weather could extend the project. This road work is in effort to pave the eroded pull offs which will overall improve traffic flow, so visitors will be able to pull over to view the wildlife.
