~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section is dedicated to you, our readers! Feel free to email us any of your fun stories from your vacation in Pigeon Forge. Send us photos, memories, travel tips, anything that you would like to tell us about your experience in the Smokies. Every week we will highlight reader's comments in this article. Thanks for all the feedback. We love to hear from you. Question of the Week, "Pigeon Forge is a great family destination, what are your children's favorite activities in Pigeon Forge?"
Last week's question, "How many times a year do you and your family visit the Smokies?"
Tommy writes, "We normally get there for spring and the fall season. There is so much fun to have with the water sports and the fall foliage and the decor of the area. I have been using the pet friendly cabins to bring my yellow lab MJ with me for the hiking trails and fly fishing with him playing in the creeks makes the visit to the smokies more complete. Thanks to all who allow pets in their cabins.Thank you TERRY KAY CABINS for making my fall retreat so special this October."
Tom writes, "At least 4, more if we could.......Our family always love our time in the mountains, no matter if we see snow or bask in the sunshine in the summer. Anytime is a good time in the smokies." |
| Spend Your Thanksgiving in Pigeon Forge!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanksgiving is known as a family holiday, with traditional feasts and lots of shopping sales. However, certain traditions are evolving, with many families choosing to cancel the trip to Grandma's house and instead use the four-day weekend for a mini-getaway. That's one reason Pigeon Forge has become the place to be the week of Thanksgiving.
There are more than 10,000 accommodations in Pigeon Forge, enabling the destination to welcome many visitors. Plus, the variety of lodging options, which includes condos and cabins with full kitchens for guests who want to fix a Thanksgiving meal, and hotels for guests who wish to be served a meal rather than make a meal.
For visitors who would like to attend a dinner show on Thanksgiving day, there are several great entertainment options. The city will already be holiday themed during the Thanksgiving break, as WinterFest started in early November, so the city is shining in brilliant light displays. Of course, plenty of Pigeon Forge shopping will be open for Black Friday sales, so getting a head start on your Christmas shopping will be a piece of cake. "Plan Your Visit Today" |
| Upcoming Winterfest Events
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you have never visited for Winterfest this is your year to do so! There is always so much going on in the area and it's the perfect way to get motivated for the Christmas Season! Going on now through February, spectacular light displays illuminate the evening landscape of Pigeon Forge where over five million lights will shimmer at dusk throughout the Smoky Mountain town.
There are plenty of events and fun things for the whole family to do, and lots of lights to be seen. There are things such as Holiday arts and craft shows, trolley tours of the lights, Christmas parades and festivals, and even light shows! The best part about these, most of them are free!
