| Question of the Week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section is dedicated to you, our readers! Feel free to email us any of your fun stories from your vacation in Pigeon Forge. Send us photos, memories, travel tips, anything that you would like to tell us about your experience in the Smokies. Every week we will highlight reader's comments in this article. Thanks for all the feedback. We love to hear from you. Question of the Week, "How many times a year do you and your family visit the Smokies?"
Last week's question, "The holiday season is upon us! Do you have a special holiday memory or tradition in Pigeon Forge?" John says, "Each year my wife and I, our 3 children, their wives and husband and our 2 grandchildren come to Pigeon Forge to kick off the Christmas Holidays. This is a tradition we started when our kids were small and it was just the 5 of us. We spend the weekend starting on Friday night at The Dixie Stampede for their annual Christmas Show. We always rent a place that we can all 10 of us stay together. On Saturday morning we go to Dollywood. The kids go to ride the rides and us older folks go to see all the Christmas Shows. We usually meet up at Aunt Granny's and all set down to eat supper together. On Sunday morning we go to church and then to the Flea Market at Dumplin' Valley to do some shopping for Christmas gifts. We have been doing this for the last 20 years on the weekend before Thanksgiving. It always starts off the Christmas Holidays right for us just to be together and enjoy the lights and sounds of the Christmas Spirit we have always found in Pigeon Forge. We will continue to look forward to it every year no matter how big our family grows."
Joy writes, "We first brought our granddaughter to the Pigeon Forge-Gatlingburg area when she was eleven months old in November to see the Christmas lights. This will be the fourth year we will be coming and she can't wait. Seeing the lights through the eyes of a child is a wonderful memory. We plan our trip around the Veteran's Day Program in Gatlinburg in which she really enjoys, seeing the planes fly over, hearing and seeing the bagpipes, and the live eagle and also, for my husband's birthday. She loves all the shows. This year she wants to ride a helicopter. The Smokies is a wonderful place for a family get-away this time of year and gets you in the Christmas spirit and still that hint of fall in the air. This is one tradition we don't want to break. We started this with our sons when they were little and we have carried it on to the next generation. See you next week."
| Winter Magic Tunes and Tales
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The magic of the holiday season comes to life when award winning designer DeWayne Kirchner's Whimsical Elves enchant the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg for eight fanciful nights.

Bell, Holly Berry, Mayor Wally Nutt and Professor Tant E. Baum. The Elfdom cast will thrill the crowd with classical Christmas songs, amusing and mesmerizing tales of life in Elfdom, and extraordinary dancing numbers, adding to the spirit of the holiday season in downtown Gatlinburg.
