| Question of the Week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This section is dedicated to you, our readers! Feel free to email us any of your fun stories from your vacation in Pigeon Forge. Send us photos, memories, travel tips, anything that you would like to tell us about your experience in the Smokies. Every week we will highlight readers comments in this article. Thanks for all the feedback. We love to hear from you.
Question of the Week, "With fall quickly approaching, what is your favorite fall activity in the Smokies?"
Last week's question, "What is your favorite month to take a spontaneous weekend getaway?"
Tommy writes, "Our favorite month for a weekend stay is always in the 3rd week of October to see the foliage change and to see all the holiday decor in town is so awsome to see and to get a cabin in the higher elevation and enjoy the views the smokies has to offer. To see sunrise and sunset from your cabin balcony and here and feel the wind blowing only gives you all the peace and tranquility you'll ever need for that recharge to come back home."
Renee wrote, "I would say December... All the Christmas lights are on and the coldness of The air makes it feel like Christmas."
Ginger wrote, "Any month is a good month when you take off to Pigeon Forge. I guess June would be my favorite time to visit though. It just seems relaxing yet warm enough to get out and walk around and shop and visit attractions."
Teresa wrote, "My favorite month for a weekend getaway is September. Not that I don't love the summer months, but after a few months of the heat, the cool down that September brings just renews the energy level and makes you want to get out and go somewhere. So much so, I moved up my Smoky mountain vacation up a month because I'm just itching to get there." |
Dixie Stampede Host Third Annual "Whoadeo" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pigeon Forge's Dixie Stampede will host their third annual Whoadeo on Saturday Sept. 26, featuring stick horse competitions, a parade of horses, a small carnival and prizes.
Children may register by entering in a coloring contest, which is being offered by Food City. Entry forms are available at all Food City locations until Sept. 16.
