Sonoco Dives in with Sea-Doo
Sonoco was recently awarded the business to mold two components; the flotation system and an extension kit; for an innovative personal watercraft that Sea-Doo is developing.
Both parts will be made from EPP, which is an outstanding material for these applications due to its flotation properties as well as its ability to provide strength as an internal support component.
The parts will be made at the Sonoco plant in Juarez and be shipped to BRP at their Central Mexico plant where Sonoco will supply parts as a Tier 1 supplier.

The new watercraft is expected to hit the water in the second quarter of 2013, just in time for the summer boating season. |

Jessica Irons Buckles Up for the Kidz in Motion Conference |
Kidz in Motion is an annual conference that is dedicated to child car seat safety. As a leading supplier of molded foam components for the car seats, we have participated at this conference twice in the past three years.
At this year's conference, Jessica Irons participated on Manufacturer's Panel and gave a presentation on Sonoco Protective Solutions capabilities. The presentation was well received by both the conference attendees and the show organizers and generated a great deal of dialogue.

We are always on the lookout for specific industry focused events like conferences and tradeshows, so please let us know if you are aware of any events into which we should look.

Sonoco TransGuard a Win for Chrysler
In addition to the totes that Sonoco engineers created for the 2012 Dodge Dart Fog Lamp Bezel, Sonoco was also awarded the business for the Dodge Dart Instrument Panel Bezel.
This is a unique part because it's fragile, very long, and has a very sensitive surface finish. It is contoured such that the tote needs to be deep in order to accommodate and protect the part. Because of all of these tricky features, a TransGuard Stand Alone Tote is the ideal solution, as it is designed exactly to address all of these issues.
Additionally, this tote uses a common female tool, so the customer only had to buy the male half, and is run in Owosso, MI - close to the Chrysler headquarters and assembly plant.
