Protective Branding Announcement

We are now Sonoco Protective Solutions!

Since the original protective branding announcement last week, there have been several questions.  Here is some clarification:

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION A press release will be issued in the coming weeks explaining the new branding for Sonoco Protective Solutions.  At that time, we will send customer notifications about the change.

BUSINESS CARDS:  Sonoco corporate is currently working with the business units to coordinate ordering business cards and will send out an e-mail with instructions on how to order the new cards.  In the mean time, if you have enough old business cards, please continue to use them.

E-MAIL SIGNATURE:  Feel free to add Sonoco Protective Solutions your e-mail signature.

SIGNAGE A plan to change the signs at the various locations (plants, etc.) is being developed and will be rolled out over time.

More detailed information about the rollout of Sonoco Protective Solutions will be shared with you as it becomes available.

Protective Solutions.

If you have additional questions about the new logo, please contact Christine Wilson.

Sonoco to Start Production on Components for the Mitsubishi Outlander 2013

The Tullahoma, TN facility will go Start of Production in July of this year on three projects for the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander.  Sonoco will be a Tier 2 supplier via Amtex Corporation, who is the Tier 1 supplier.

These parts go in the front driver and passenger floorboards and rear sides of the vehicle.

Two of the three projects will be using PePP material, which is a special sound resistant material. Sonoco will be the first supplier to ever supply Mitsubishi with parts made out of PePP.

Please contact Dave Jones for more details.

Sonoco Begins New Packaging Project for Bose HDTV

In April of 2012, Sonoco started production on the packaging cushions for a new Bose HDTV.  Engineers presented both Arcel and EPP options with the customer eventually choosing Arcel.

This design won a design contest and relies on support from multiple Sonoco locations including Arlington Heights, Eau Claire, and Butner for support.

Please contact Ricardo Cazares or Dave Stanfield for more details.

Sonoco Wins J&J Sterilizer Packaging

Sonoco will be starting production on the packaing for a sterilizer for Advanced Sterilization Products (a division of J&J) in the 3rd & 4th Quarter of 2012.

Sonoco PPD was ideal for this job because the customer is located close to our Eau Claire, WI facility for both manufacturing and design capability.  In addition, we were able to use the testing lab capabilities in Nashville.

This is the 3rd project won against Arbo Box, who was the incumbent supplier.

Please contact Randy Kruska for more details.
