WQCI is Hiring! Two P/T Positions Available 

The Western Queens Compost Initiative seeks 2 enthusiastic individuals to join WQCI as Part-Time Field Assistants for 17 hours/week, year round. The Field Assistants will staff food scrap drop-off sites and info tables on Saturdays and Sundays. The Field Assistants will also help process the organic material at the compost sites.

BIG!Blooms Update 

The spring building and gardening season has been a success at local school and community gardens. Build It Green!NYC's BIG!Blooms program has donated over 47 tons (95,520 lbs) of salvaged scaffolding lumber to NYC gardens. That's enough for 995 garden beds! Learn more here. The South Brooklyn Children's Garden (pictured) picked up 1,100 linear feet last weekend and have already transformed an empty lot into a green space for the community!
