File Away a Bit of Architectural History

Want to add some history to your workspace? Because we all know architectural history is classy, why not start with these steel filing cabinets? Donated by Columbia University, these cabinets were used to archive Max Abramovitz's drawings in the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library. Abramovitz is best known for his partnership with Wallace Harrison, and their American Architectural firm in NY, which dealt with modernist corporate towers on the east coast and midwestern cities. File that tidbit in your Steelcase!

Home Renovation Season is Upon Us!

Throughout the summer months New Yorkers, as well as residents in the surrounding tri-state area, seem to be making a dent on their home improvement to-do lists.

Post Fourth O' July, the BIG!NYC Deconstruction team has been busy with jobs that have yielded some beautiful architecture materials, including: oak and brass railings, kitchen cabinetry, an unique Tiger Finish Bathroom set, and some ready to install kitchen appliances. Both reuse centers are stocked with items that are sure to add to your summer renovations, as well as to help you prepare for the cold winter months (we have some great parlor stoves in Brooklyn).

But BIG!NYC doesn't stop there. If you have a renovation in mind, help us to extend this decon-feast because we are hungry for more!  We offer free and professional dismantling services that provide an environmental and tax deductible alternative to the landfill. The three R's have met their fourth: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, while Renovating!
