DIY Gift Ideas for Dad
Father's Day is coming up fast, this Sunday to be exact, so it's about time to figure out what you're going to give that special guy. The standard Father's Day gifts of electronics or tools for the grill are not only predictable, but also expensive. Instead, why don't you give dear ol' dad something he will really love? The best gifts are those that are personal and crafted with care.

Looking for something super easy to create but just as memorable? Try using window panes to create an awesome photo display like that from Cottage Instincts.
Does your dad enjoy throwing a few back or hosting get-togethers? If so, how about creating a rustic dry bar using a vintage door as seen on The DIY Network.

What: Flip a compost windrow on a rooftop farm!

Where: Brooklyn Grange, Long Island City

When: Saturday, June 16th, 10 am to 4 pm

Join Western Queens Compost Initiative on Saturday, June 16th to build a windrow as part of one of the most exciting compost pilot projects in NYC. These events a great way to bring NYers together to bridge the gap between nutrient management needs of urban ag and NYC's solid waste management goals. They're also a great workout and an awesome opportunity to socialize at the same time. Please join us for as much or as little as you can.
