Next Saturday, August 13th is our District 4 Back to School celebration. My hope is to distribute 1,000 backpacks with school supplies to families who need them. Please join me from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Meadow Woods Orlando Magic Recreation Center on 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle in District 4 for a great day of fun, community outreach and celebration of our local young people. 

Please help us spread the word and tell your neighbors about this community event! My biggest fear is that we will not be able to get the word out to the families that need these school supplies.    

Interested in receiving school supplies for your child?

Backpack distribution will begin at 12:30pm. Backpacks are on a first come first serve basis while supplies last. The child must be present to receive a backpack, no R.S.V.P is necessary.  There will be lots of vendors too and many of them will also be distributing school supplies.  

Interested in helping?

We still need: 

• loose leaf paper
• spiral notebooks
• colored pencils
• boxes of tissues

We still have vendor spaces available! If you are a business or non-profit organization and are interested in setting up a booth contact Jason.russo@ocfl.net. Remember, the more the merrier.  This should be a great event and a great way to showcase your business to our community.   

Need volunteer service hours?

Join us for backpack stuffing on Wednesday, August 10th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Meadow Woods Orlando Magic Recreation Center on 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle. We will be stuffing backpacks with school supplies so they will be ready for Saturday the 13th!
