I am excited to invite you to please join your Lake Holden Shores neighbors and Orange County to celebrate the unveiling of the Historic Plaque Honoring Aaron Jernigan.

Saturday, April 16

2:00 p.m.

The ceremony will begin at the corner of 29th and Alamo Drive

Prior to being known as Lake Holden Shores or Orlando, this area was known as Jernigan's after the first permanent settler, cattleman Aaron Jernigan, who acquired land along Lake Holden by the terms of the Armed Occupation Act of 1842.  This historic plaque in his honor will be unveiled at 2 p.m., followed by a celebration held on Alamo Street.

While I am not able to attend, my Aide, Susan Makowski, will be there to present and read a proclamation in honor of this event.  Congratulations to all who worked so hard setting up this event and plaque unveiling to honor Aaron Jerningan.

I hope you will join in the festivities.

Thanks,
