The Prince Rupert Port Authority has announced an opportunity to review the highly-anticipated vision for its development lands in and around Prince Rupert's Cow Bay.
Earlier this year, the Port Authority conducted focus groups to engage community stakeholders in helping determine a vision for Cow Bay, on the Prince Rupert waterfront. Their input was synthesized by the Vancouver architectural firm Office of Mcfarlane Biggar Architects & Designers Inc. (OMB) to craft a master development plan for the area.
An open house, scheduled for Tuesday, May 15th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Crest Hotel banquet room, will invite members of the public to review the framework for future site developments along the Prince Rupert waterfront.
"Our vision is to contribute to the growth of a sustainable, thriving community," said Don Krusel, President and CEO of the Prince Rupert Port Authority. "Building a world-class port city means attracting and retaining good people to a well-conceived, livable environment. This development vision, which has been influenced by stakeholders from a wide spectrum of interests and activities, will enhance Prince Rupert's appeal to residents and visitors alike."
"Gathering meaningful input from the community has been a priority for this project," said Andrew Hamilton, Director of Trade Development for the Prince Rupert Port Authority. "We are very proud of the resulting vision for the port's waterfront lands, and we are excited to share it with the public."
The Prince Rupert Port Authority encourages attendance at the Cow Bay Developments Lands Open House on Tuesday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Crest Hotel's banquet room. As of that date, supporting materials will be available at the port's website: www.rupertport.com.
