The impression of facial beauty is directly related to the tension level of the face, head and neck muscles. In general what we perceive as an attractive appearance is characterized as much by a relaxed but resilient muscular state as a clear and glowing skin condition.

One way you affect the muscles of your face is by suppressing or controlling your emotions. This creates tension in the neck, slowing the circulation to the head and face. This blockage of energy can show up as headaches, eyestrain, neck and jaw pain, or any kind of pain or tension anywhere in the body.

The Acupressure Facial uses over 40 acu-points that are located mainly on the head, face and neck. These acu-points are places of high electrical activity; they are also the common sites of tension build-up.

Or maybe I should have titled this article;

It's Useless Unless You Can Use It.

Meditation, as well as mediation based practices such as yoga and Tai-Chi, contain within their structure, a lot of esoteric concepts, such as staying in the moment, remaining unattached, letting go of goals. And, with a little practice, all of us can experience these things while sitting peacefully, listening to beautiful music, or watching a candle flame dance on its wick; but what about real life? What about when things aren't peaceful? And when there's stress, and distractions, and people demanding our attention.  How are we supposed to remain peaceful, centered and unattached then?

November always brings our thoughts to the things in our life we are grateful for. We at Cloud Hands are grateful to you, our loyal customers. You make it possible for us to continue what we love doing.

We are grateful for our yoga students who are dedicated to the practice, our bellydance students who find their joy in the dance, our qi-gong students who are centered and balanced, our meditation students who let their thoughts go, our massage clients who trust us to help them relax and heal, and our reflexology clients who want to maintain a state of well-being and our reiki students who are learning to heal themselves and their familes.

We are grateful for all the gift cards you have given, friends you have referred and allowing us to be part of your community and lives.

Welcome Back

Diane Alex and Robert Thompson opened Cloud Hands in 2003. At the time Robert was teaching Tai-Chi and Diane was doing reflexology.  Their idea was to create a center that offered both classes and bodywork. They felt since their work complimented each others so well it would be great if customers to could experience both in one place.

Robert is now re-joining our staff. He is teaching a monthly meditation class and qi-gong class. Watch for additional classes and workshops that he will be teaching soon.

We are pleased to have Rose Litschauer back with us to offer massage. She was our first massage therapist at Cloud Hands. She enjoys sharing her gift of integrated massage techniques with those in need of care, healing, rejuvenating and relaxing. She is also a yoga instructor. Rose is a doula, servicing women seeking prenatal yoga, pre-natal education, labor and post natal care.

Thanksgiving Thoughts

No longer foward nor behind

I look in hope or  fear;

But, grateful, take the good I find,

The best of now and here.
