Sign Language Skills for Beginners - April 4, 11, 18, 25

6:30-8:30 PM located at 3025 Petawawa Blvd, Unit D. 20$ for 4 weeks. Register by March 30th

Managing Stress and Emotions - April 15th

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the South Side Community Centre, 1578 Wolfe Ave). Cost is $70.00. Register by Thursday April 12th

In this one-day workshop, you will be introduced to practical techniques for releasing stress and blocked emotions within the framework of mind and body. By giving you the tools for managing stress, results in fewer sick leaves, stronger moral, greater ability to stay focused and general well being.

*    calming of the nervous system leading to overall relaxation
*    abilities to quiet the mind
*    the link between emotions and physical ailments
*    breathing techniques which can be applied in minutes

New Age Meditation - April 16 & 30

New Age Meditation has been influenced by many of the aspects of popular new age culture today, such as Yoga, Buddhism and spirituality.

Watercolor Painting 101 - April 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23

6:30 - 8:30 PM at the South Side Community Centre, 1578 Wolfe Ave. Cost is $40.00.

In this 6-week course, we will guid you through some of the basics of watercolouring. We will explore brush strokes, wet to wet, wet to dry, dry to dry techniques of applying paint and creating special effects.

Emergency First Aid/CPR - April 23 - 24

Two part training on two consecutive nights. This training provides you with nationally recognized certificates, how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and take-home materials.

Deployment Activities

Deployment: an overseas operation, temporary duty, exercise, field operation, course, or special tasking.

Deployment Family Day & BBQ - April 28

12:00 - 4:00 PM at the South Side Community Centre, 1578 Wolfe Ave. Registration is required.

To help us celebrate the warm weather, families who have a loved one, deployed or away on tasking, are invited to join us for our Spring Deployment Family Day & BBQ.

This FREE fun filled afternoon will include:
  • Ray's Reptile Show at 1:00 PM     
  • BBQ hosted by the Deployment Support Centre    
  • Xbox Kinnect
  • Sumo Suits (courtesy of Community Recreation)     
  • Kiddie Commando Course
  • Wacky make over station
  • Vanderbrook Farm will be doing horse rides for all ages
  • Youth and children's activities and craft stations

Road to Mental Readiness: Pre-Deployment or Reintegration R2MR Workshops

Deployment Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR) workshops are an interactive deployment information session geared towards helping family members of deployed soldiers navigate through the emotional cycle of deployment, including the pre-deployment and reintegration phases.  Let's talk about expectations and normalities regarding their departure and/or homecoming and answer any questions about the deployment highway, as well as our deployment supports and services.
