There are many paths to spiritual awakening and growth. Many such opportunities occur regularly in our lives, but we don't recognize them because they are often cloaked in feelings of loss and suffering with links and roots connected to unresolved incidents of suffering from the past.
Some fear and apprehension about the future may even result from projecting those past experiences into the future. There we are, trapped in the middle waiting for some type of redemption.
What happens when it doesn't come soon enough? What happens if your redemption doesn't come at all? What do you do when you, like a victim of a holocaust, realize that the god you have been waiting for isn't doing anything? Job's wife suggested that he curse God and die.
What happens when you curse God and live, but nothing still changes? You learn to live. You have been initiated onto the path of real spirituality because your idea of God, and therefore your idea of yourself must die. It has never been real, only a way to find constancy and comfort in a world where it doesn't exist.
You are then left with nothing. You are left with emptiness and the way you experience this emptiness determines if you will lead victorious life or one of defeat. Being left with nothing to lose or gain is the ultimate freedom.
Every person can't hear this and most cannot bear it. The very idea is troubling. This, however, its the ultimate spiritual journey because during times like these one must completely let go and live a life of meaning and bliss no matter what the circumstances, or hold onto some false, outdated, belief that isn't true, and live the horrible life that accompanies it. Choose the Bliss. You will never regret it.
