Last Call to Submit Comments re: the Geospatial Management Competency Model
URISA invites experienced geospatial professionals of all kinds - particularly those with management experience - to review and comment on a draft Geospatial Management Competency Model (GMCM). The GMCM specifies 74 essential competencies and 17 competency areas that characterize the work of most successful managers in the geospatial industry.

Please review the draft model online and then proceed to the questionnaire for your thoughtful comment in this important process for the profession (by March 31).

 ULA2012 Pre-registration numbers are well ahead of last year for the URISA Leadership Academy (June 11-15, 2012 in Savannah, Georgia). If you're considering attending this year, you are strongly encouraged to register soon as classroom size is limited for this event.  

 

The GIS-Pro 2012 Conference Committee met recently in Portland to discuss abstract submissions and organize the conference program. Really looking good! Stay tuned for exciting conference details, activities and more!  

URISA Certified Workshops
Check out the online training calendar for a list of upcoming workshops on the schedule, including Open Source GIS at SoCal URISA (March 31); Asset Management at the GIS-T Conference in Colorado (April 15); the Addressing workshop in Tennessee (May 9) and in Austin, Texas (June 5) and Open Source GIS at URISA HQ in Chicago (June 21).

Attend and earn GISP points... also the first step in the path to becoming a certified workshop instructor!

Have you heard about the fantastic recognition which GISCorps recently received? URISA's GISCorps was honored by the U.S. White House for volunteer service. A well-deserved and proud moment for all of those who are involved with this great URISA program.
