- Always Something New - 

Fall is here, which means loads of new products arriving daily!

Some highlights include the new Debbie Bliss Fall/Winter 2012 magazine, as well as two new products from Debbie Bliss: Winter Garden, a 10 stitch gauge, polar yarn, perfect for  cozy winter sweaters; and, Blue Faced Leicester, an aran weight 100% superwash wool.  Both yarns come in a wide variety of colours. Also stunning new colours of Debbie Bliss Angel.

From Sweet Georgia, Superwash Chunky, a 100% superwash merino wool, and the lovely new Silk Mist, a 60% kid mohair, 40% silk blend. Exquisite!

We love Misti Alpaca's Best of Nature Worsted  yarn, so we decided to bring in their Best of Nature Organic Cotton.  This is a worsted weight yarn as well, dyed with all natural dyes.  Also new is Misti Alpaca's Ayllu overdye aran weight yarn, a variegated alpaca/polyamide blend yarn, another perfect choice for warm winter projects.

After endless requests we are now carrying Berroco's tried and true Peruvia, a 100% peruvian highland wool available in a fabulous assortment of colours.  Also from Berroco, Boboli Quick is a soft and shimmering muliticolour wool blend.  This 10 stitch gauge yarn is perfect for a fast and satisfying knit.  And, new colours of two of our other favourites, Flicker and Peruvia Quick.

From Namaste, a new and improved Better Buddy -  sleeker shape, updated materials and colour options, as well as stronger magnets for your notions.  Also in is the all-new Harlow bag and the Boardwalk Bag, a hands-free backpack, with a faux microsuede interior, made from recycled plastic bottles.

Mirasol's latest new yarn is Hasa, an alpaca wool blend with a fleck of silk threaded through each skein. Perfectly soft and fabulous colours!

The new Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts has 43 giftable knit ideas, as well as some quick tricks for double knitting, mosaic knitting and steeking. 

Noro Magazine vol. 32 also just arrived, with a wide selection of patterns from sweaters and vests, to hats, gloves and scarves.

- Project Ideas - 

 If you enjoyed the Knit Your Own Dog patterns,  cat lovers will adore Knit Your Own Cat. This book has 16 easy-to-follow feline patterns from the pretty Persian, the sleek Siamese, or the traditional Tabby.  My personal favourite is the Maine Coon - such a character cat!

Will's Aran Cardigan, featured in the new Debbie Bliss magazine, is a classic man's cardi.  So, if you have been remiss in knitting your man a special keepsake, this is the pattern for you.  Suggested yarn is the new DB Blue Faced Leicester Aran, available in a wide assortment of colours.

Patterns from Brooklyn Tweed are always a hit and the latest selection is no exception.  Top of the list is the Ferrous Wrap, a geometric garter and mesh lace pattern, designed to allow several options for construction and size. Knit using any fingering weight yarn, such as Harrisville Shetland, Biscotte & Cie Felix, or Shibui Staccato, which are only a few of the many choices.
