- Feature of the Month -

Blue Sky Alpaca Metalico

Talk about luxury!  Blue Sky's new Metalico yarn is a blend of naturally occuring shades of baby alpaca mixed with mulberry silk.  This undyed yarn contains colourways from shimmering white to silvery greys and golds.  Our favourite pattern in this new yarn is Girl in the World, a top down, knit in the round sweater  - shapely and glamorous.

And stay tuned for the recently shipped new Royal Petites, 100 yard balls of Royal Alpaca - the same exquisite colours and twist as the full size hanks of Royal Alpaca but geared towards smaller projects.  The new vintage-style patterns that compliment this yarn are fabulous!

Plus loads of other new Blue Sky and Spud and Chloe patterns as well as new colours in a variety of their yarns.

- Always Something New -

To add to our Madelinetosh collection, we have now brought in Tosh Sport, a 100% superwash merino wool.   Each skein is a generous 270 yards and is available in 23 luscious colourways.

Or, looking for a change of pace?  We have a variety of new kits to   entice you.  Laura Nelkin's knitted jewelry kits, a sample of which is featured on the right, come  with everything you need to make unique necklaces and bracelets.  With easy to follow instructions, these kits are fun and funky!

Another jewelery choice is Go Knit Chic bracelet kits.  Each kit is complete with Tilli Tomas yarn, rhinestone accents and instructions, a sample of which is available for viewing at our Pt. Grey location.

Other new kits feature Gillian Gladrag's feltmaking projects, including felted bracelets, baby booties, purses as well as the "Monstrous Maurice" monster kit.

If you like rug hooking or have never tried and want to learn, the new made in Canada Molly Made kits are a perfect choice.  These kits are available in two sizes and come complete with patterns on burlap, instructions, hook, frame, wool, cord and darning needle.

- Project Ideas -

The new Royal Petite vintage style patterns are amazing!  The   Countess Mitts,   featured on the right, are perfect to "adorn your hands with beauty and practicality".  The delicate lace vine up the centre gives these gloves a lovely feminine charm.

Vogue Knitting early fall magazine has arrived and Amanda already dove into making Kendrick-Hands "condo" lace scarf .  Knit by working alternate rows with different size needles creates a lovely crochet style pattern.  Zealana's Rimu is perfect for this project!

Donna just finished The Veronique Shrug from French Girl   Knits.   Knit in Louet Kidlin, this yarn is perfect for garments if you're looking for a lace weight yarn with a little more body - and we have 18 fabulous colours to choose from!  Note the lovely gathers across the shoulder blades.  A sample of this project is available for viewing at our Edgemont location.
